Active Child - When Your Love is Safe from Yours Truly on Vimeo.

On their website they describe the singer Pat Grossi as a choirboy-turned-indie pop musician and when he throws in the playing of a harp -- it creates a unique and interesting sound. The song I like is called, "When Your Love is Safe" -- I really like it, I hope you like it too.

1 step,2 step ,3 step....

“All I have is today, this moment, to work with. I am writing my story as I go. I am inventing myself one moment, one experience, at a time.”

I'm excited to learn hydration and a bit of sports science today. I think I could have been a P.T. or an O.T. if there wasn't corpses and blood involved. I'm such a nerd. I love it!

Like pricey jewelry

Tattoos ... love them or hate them.

I’ve always loved tattoos. If I ever got a desire to get one, I'd say to myself okay, take a year to think about it and if you still want it next year, go ahead and get it. One year? That’s short for something that will last a lifetime.

I’ve been thinking of getting one since I was 18, and not one design passed the one-year test. Every time, at the end of that year, I end up saying, “Ohhhhh! thank god you didn’t get that!!!”

A dolphin (at 18). Vines with the heart Chinese character hidden in the design (at 20). Nautical Stars (at 23). The phrase "Vi veri universum vivus vici"("By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe".) (at 25).

5 years later, a lotus and a wave design had both pass the one year mark. I ended up saying "Ohhh thank God i got them!!! "
Tatoos...they’re romantic, unreasonable, thoughtless and eternal all at the same time.

L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux

Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu’avec le cÅ“ur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

English translation: “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Particular Hue of Blue

I love the vibe sparkling blue pools have. It makes me want to slip in and cool my skin especially during these hot summer days.

The beautiful pool is from the above is from the East Hampton home of Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer (granddaughter of Estee) . Isn't it serene? The cabana, with it's multiple sets of floor to ceiling french doors is the perfect size.

This magical shot is should be an addition to my "keeper" file.

Have a great dreamy Sunday!

Nord e Sud

It all started with ryan making a comment, "wala, iba talaga ang south sa north." you see, ryan is a south boy, joaquin is a north boy, and i am a south girl. (just for example's sake, here are sample demographics. a north boy is a 17-year old ateneo student who lives in xavierville and uses a nokia 6630, while a south boy is a 19-year old dlsu student who lives in bf homes and uses a nokia 7650.)

they threw characteristics of a south boy or north boy at me, and i had to confirm or deny. in the end, all their observations proved to be pretty much correct. let me share a few..

what do you think, agree ka ba?

RAWlicious Super Green Smoothies

I discovered Rawlicious at the White Space Organic Market last June. I tried Joe's Green Mind and Green Monster Xavier. I prefer Green Monster Xavier because it has a bit of zing to it.

It's a combination of bananas, pineapple, romaine lettuce and a bit of ginger. I love the drink so much that I decided making it myself.

Ingredients:

1 ripe banana
2 slices of pineapple (canned)
( i didn't have fresh pineapple so I used what's available in our pantry)
6- 7 leaves of romaine lettuce
1/2 tsp of grated ginger
250ml H20 or Coconut water
ice cubes

Combine everything in the blender . Drink up.

Verdict: It tasted really good and let's not forget healthy too. The mix of all these ingredients is said to encourage healing.

If you want to try the real thing, you can visit Rawlicious at the Legaspi Park Organic Market every Sunday from 8am - 2pm

Cheese test

You are a cheese with a complex flavor. Your moods are affected by your current environments. You are sophisticated and mature but sometimes a little superstitious.

Brie is the best known French cheese and has a nickname "The Queen of Cheeses". Several hundred years ago, Brie was one of the tributes which had to be paid to the French kings. In France, Brie is very different from the cheese exported to the United States. "Real" French Brie is unstabilized and the flavor is complex when the surface turns slightly brown. When the cheese is still pure-white, it is not matured. If the cheese is cut before the maturing process is finished, it will never develop properly. Exported Brie, however, is stabilized and never matures. Stabilized Brie has a much longer shelf life and is not susceptible to bacteriological infections. Brie, one of the great dessert cheeses, comes as either a 1 or 2 kilogram wheel and is packed in a wooden box. In order to enjoy the taste fully, Brie must be served at room temperature. Your life's soundtrack

Sometimes music is simple. Energy on the dance floor, in the car, at the gym, moving through me like metabolism. Pure, uncomplicated entertainment. Lyrics? Secondary. It’s all about the groove.

Have you noticed though that if you listen to a song in the rain, it sounds and feels different? It’s heavier. More meaningful. And the lyrics begin to sink in. Certain songs were meant to be played in the rain. Or at night. Or in the city. Or in the Summer. Or in transition. Sometimes to forget. Sometimes to hold on. Songs for beginnings, or ends. For sad, or angry, or beautiful.

All good songs are better songs in the right mood.

And then, like magic, that’s when a stranger's poetry becomes my story, for me. And your story, for you. And then music is simple no longer - because our stories are never simple.

So that’s how I organize what I listen to: by mood. My life is a movie and every scene requires the perfect background music: the soundtrack of my life.

Everyone needs one. It makes you feel special, from black & white to technicolor. Your soundtrack makes even the most mundane tasks an academy award winning performance. Your movie is an epic drama, sci-fi thriller and music video all in one.

I'm still trying to figure out my soundtrack . Some are older, some newer. They can all mean different things to different people. But however you use them, I am certain that they will make your movie more colorful.

So with this, WHAT's YOUR SOUNDTRACK?

Kogepan - The Burnt Red Bean Bun

While searching on Google ,I came across an imaginative story that about a little red bean bun that got burnt in the oven, only to be shunned by the baker and all other buns in the bakery as a result. This little bun, named Kogepan, was so depressed he spent most of his time “smoking and drinking milk as beer” .As with most Japanese stories, Kogepan eventually learns the error of his ways and strives to be a better bun, inspiring us all to do the best we can in our own life. I have no idea why someone would take the time to write a story like this, but I’m so happy they did.

D

My Story

I am Kogepan. I was from a bakery shop in Hokkaido. My bakery shop is very famous in Japan because the red bead buns that it churns out are so delicious that only 20 of such type are made each day. I was supposed to be a delicious red bean bun too, but an unfortunate accident had happened...

On the day I was supposed to be brought into the oven, I was thrilled because the moment has finally arrived for me to become what most breads have always wanted to be - a high quality red bean bread.

As I continue to ponder on that, I began to giggle in excitement.

When the baker began to take me and my friends out from the oven, I was ecstatic because everything had went smoothly. However, my happiness is somehow short-lived when the baker accidentally tilted the pan and...

And I fell back into the oven and disappeared into a cloud of smoke. I looked around for my friends but they were not there. I was very afraid.

I was getting cooked again and there was a burnt smell seeping out from me. I thought to myself "Somebody please come and save me!"

Nobody noticed that I was missing and I waited in the oven for another 30 minutes. My skin was no longer a golden color and had turned dark brown. I smelt awful.

Finally, the baker saw me and took me out from the oven, but he did not place me back on the shelves where the other red bean buns were.

I am a burnt bread and certainly, nobody wants to buy me. I felt lonely and upset. I thought to myself that my life as a bread was very meaningless. I was so disillusion that my eyes turned white.

The other red bean buns always mock at me, calling me awful names. The baker did not even pay attention to me at all. I think the whole world hates me.

I decided to run away from home. Nobody will care anyway. I shall run to a place where nobody exists and nobody will make fun of me.

I spent most of my time smoking and drinking milk as beer. I became very depressed and pessimistic.

After a few days, I finally came to my senses, and decided not to live my life like this anymore. The bakery is still my home after all.

Back at the bakery I decided to read a book titled "How to become a delicious bread" to improve myself. I believed that if I continue to work hard, I will eventually attain my dream of becoming a delicious red bean bun.

But every time I see the other red bean buns I lose hope and become jealous again. I always lecture them about the life of being a bread and because of that, all of them were afraid of me.

Other Characters

Kuriimupan (creamy bread) is also a burnt bread like me. We are very good friends and we always drink beer (milk) together and often run away from home.
They are called Kireipan, as known as the pretty breads. They are delicious and unlike me, they are not burnt. I am always jealous of them.
My friend Sumipan is even more burnt than me. He is called the charcoal bread and he is also my very good friend.
Ichigopan is the latest addition to the family. He is the strawberry cream bread and unlike the other bread, he is pink in color.
